Board Welcomes Brown as Chair, New Trustees

Norman H. Brown Jr. was elected as Board Chair of the University of Oregon Foundation Board of Trustees during its summer meeting. Mr. Brown is a 1968 UO graduate and is Senior Managing Director with New York City-based Brock Capital Group LLC, which provides investment banking services for early stage and middle market companies. He has served as a Foundation Trustee since 2001 and will serve as Board Chair for two years.
Brown graduated with a BA in Political Science from the UO, and earned his MBA at the Wharton School. Mr. Brown's professional background includes over 30 years in investment banking. He is a former Managing Director/Senior Advisor for Credit Suisse First Boston, where he had new business development responsibility for Latin America as part of the Global Industrial & Services Group. He was previously Managing Director for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette prior to its merger with Credit Suisse First Boston in 2000. While with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Brown was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group, established and headed the Restructuring Group, and headed the Global Metals & Mining Group
As Board Chair, Brown succeeds Dan W. Hollingshead of Eugene, President & CEO of The Papé Group. Hollingshead will serve as Immediate Past Board Chair for the 2010-11 fiscal year.
The Board of Trustees oversees the management and administration of the Foundation and its assets and is comprised of over 40 Trustees at Large who donate considerable time and effort in the interest of helping the Foundation and the University grow and prosper. The Foundation, an independent, non-profit corporation, receives, invests and distributes funds from private gifts to the University of Oregon.

- Treasurer & Secretary - Steven J. Holwerda of Portland, OR, a 1991 UO graduate and Chief Operating Officer of Ferguson Wellman Capital Management.
