Hollingshead chairs UO Foundation Board in 2009-10

Dan W. Hollinghead of Eugene OR, a 1969 UO graduate and Chairman and CEO of Papé Kenworth and Executive Vice President of The Papé Group, Inc., was named as Board Chair of the University of Oregon Foundation Board of Trustees. He has been a member of the Board since 1999 and will serve as Board Chair for one year.


Hollingshead earned a BA (1969) in Accounting from the UO. He is a former Managing Partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Hollingshead’s industry specialties include forest products, manufacturing, heavy equipment, technology, retail/distribution, real estate/financial services, with an emphasis in serving community banks and leasing entities. He has experience in all aspects of SEC registration and Initial Public Offerings with a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and strategic business counseling. He has been involved with numerous community boards, including the Eugene/Springfield Metro Partnership, the United Way of Lane County, the YMCA Board of Directors, and the Portland Opera.


As Board Chair, Hollingshead succeeds Gwendolyn H. Lillis of Colorado, Chair of The Lillis Foundation. Lillis will serve as Immediate Past Board Chair for the 2009-10 fiscal year.


The Board of Trustees oversees the management and administration of the Foundation and its assets, currently more than $700 million. The Board consists of 36 members who donate considerable time and effort in the interest of helping the Foundation and the University grow and prosper. The Foundation, an independent, non-profit corporation, receives, invests and distributes funds from private gifts to the University.
Additional members of the Board leadership for 2009-10 include:

  • Board Chair Elect – Norm Brown of New York, NY, a 1968 UO graduate and Senior Managing Director of Brock Capital Group, LLC.
  • Second Board Chair Elect – Jon Anderson of Eugene, OR, President of Random Lengths Publications, Inc.
  • Treasurer & Secretary– Steven J. Holwerda of Portland, OR, a 1991 UO graduate and Chief Operating Officer of Ferguson Wellman Capital Management.

Seven new members have been appointed to four-year terms on the Foundation Board. They are:
