UO Foundation Named Mid-Size Nonprofit of the Year
Nov 2007
Foundation & Endowment Money Management (FEMM) recently awarded the University of Oregon Foundation the Mid-Size Nonprofit of the Year as a part of their 2007 Nonprofit Awards For Excellence. They include six awards for foundations and endowments, five awards for asset managers, one for a consultant and another for a marketer.
Every year, FEMM draws up a long list of potential nominees, three of which are nominated by the editorial staff for each category. To do this, FEMM conducts both qualitative and quantitative research. Nominees are exemplars of the best-run nonprofits in performance, investment decisions and use of managers. For the year ended June 30, 2007, the Foundation returned 19.8%, which is attributed to performance in the areas the Foundation avoided as much as the investments it made.
Mid-Size Nonprofit of the Year Nominees:
- Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation
- M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust
- University of Oregon Foundation
